Realisation

Yes, I have been difficult.

In an urge to prove myself,

I had almost ended up being lost.

Yet life gifted me a second chance,

No less than a miracle.

I woke up from the nightmare

into a brand new day,

When light ushered, and swept darkness

away from me, far away.

I tried not to make mistakes again,

Perfection was what I sought,

But little did I know what awaited me

At the end of the corridor.

I screeched, I struggled.

Yet the battle I lost.

They say, the flame burns the brightest

just at the moment before it vanishes;

The hope I hoped was only a delusion,

The realisation dawned on me.
